Straddle Leg models are available with several different clamps for specific ranges of roll diameters. The I.D. between the straddle legs is built to the customers’ specification, such as the need to straddle a pallet. Most models can grip paper rolls from the corner of a pallet. The leg length is adjustable to meet the desired machine capacity up to 1200 lb/544 kg. The RCR clamp is available in three different sizes to meet the needs of the various size roll diameters a customer needs to handle. An optional small roll adapter can be easily pinned in place to permit gripping rolls as small as 9”/228mm. The height of the roll clamping pads can be 8” to 16” in height depending on the length of the roll. This equipment is powder coated for durability and also available with an FDA approved power coatings available as an option.

The RCR20-40 and RCR30-50 are completely self contained lift truck attachments that can be mounted to any Class II carriage.  Capable of handling both vertical and horizontal rolls, the RCR line of roll handling attachments offers a flexible solution to large roll handling applications without the need to dedicate a truck to handling rolls.

Self Powered Roll Transporters

The model RH4000 (4000 lb/ 1815 kg capacity) and the RH6000 (6000 lb/2722 kg capacity) are specifically designed for transporting large rolls from 52" to 40" in diameter. Rolls are supported by two fixed roll support arms lined with white non-marking SBR rubber to cushion and prevent damge to the rollsl.  The cushioned support arms can accomodate a  range of different diameters while protecting the rolls surface from impressions.  The support arms are available in lengths from 24" to 60" depending on the customers requirements.  In addition the diameter range can be adjusted to customer specifications.  Also included is a removable safety bar to contain the roll(s) when being transported.

All Roll-Hauler™ models are supplied with a key switch, battery discharge indicator and hour meter. The key switch must be activated to operate any function of the machine including the control box.. All models include a large 700 lb. 24-volt wet acid industrial battery which can operate the machine for 16 hours continuously. The battery discharge indicator (BDI) is a bar graph type which lets the operator know when the machine requires recharging. This type of BDI is extremely helpful in determining charging requirements depending on usages especially during 3 shift operations. BDI’s are factory preset to read wet acid batteries or optional maintenance free Gel-Cell batteries which can be used for convenience charging. The BDI also has warning lights to alert operators of low battery conditions. Battery chargers are optional for each machine purchased as they are external chargers and not built-in to the machine. The hour meter is used in conjunction with scheduled maintenance requirements outlined in each operation manual. The hour meter also serves as a display for trouble shooting and changing maximum speed parameters.

The DC cabinets on all ER models house (2) 12-volt deep cycle AGM batteries, automatic charger, hydraulic pump & reservoir, key switch and battery discharge indicator. The control switches for clamp, lift and rotation are located on the top of the cabinet. For added safety, a red dead-man switch must be pressed and held for the unclamp function to operate. Flow control valves are in place to provide infinite lowering speeds for placing rolls softly on converting machines. As an option for sensitive roll materials (including paper), an adjustable gauge and control can be added to regulate the hydraulic clamping pressure exerted on the rolls surface.  All Models also available: 24-volt DC powered, 110 volt AC powered or air powered.  Optional scales provide extreme accuracy in weighing roll materials for pharmaceutical applications.

Roll-Haulers™ are the most ergonomic equipment available for transporting, weighing and rolls from pallets to converting machines. Roll-Haulers™ are very compact for working in tight areas and are designed to fit through a 30” wide doorways and aisles. All models are provided with a large 24 volt industrial battery providing enough power to run continuously for a 2-shift operation without recharging.  Roll-Haulers™ are designed to grip rolls vertically or horizontally from pallets depending on the equipped roll clamp.    Roll- Haulers™ have been in use by film manufacturers, converters and companies with packaging applications since 1997.

Portable Roll Handling & Lifting Equipment

EasyLift Ergonomic Roll Transporters are available with an aluminum roll posts or stainless steel V-Pans with manual rotation. V-Pans are built to accommodate a customers roll sizes up to 30"/762 mm in diameter, weighing as much as 600 lb/272 kg.  V-Pans can be lowered to floor level, being 4.5"/114 mm in overall height, allowing the roll to drop into the V-Pan from a standard pallet.  Rolls can be manually rotated left and right to aid in placement on converting machines.  The degree of rotation depends on the roll width. The model shown in the video is finished in an FDA approved white powder coating and equipped with an optional scale providing highly accurate roll weights.  Our Roll Transporter models are available with foot pedal lift, but most customers prefer DC powered lift.
